SafeNet to Present at RSA Conference 2012
BALTIMORE
February 22, 2012
SafeNet, Inc.,
a global leader in data protection, announced today that David Etue, vice president of corporate development strategy for SafeNet, will present at the 2012 RSA Conference in San Francisco. Mr. Etue and Joshua Corman, director of security intelligence for Akamai Technologies (NASDAQ: AKAM), will co-present “Adversary ROI: Why Spend $40B Developing It, When You Can Steal It For $1M.”
The session
will explore the reasons why the security community fails to accurately assess
Return On Investment (ROI) on security offerings and Return On Security Investment
(ROSI). Mr. Etue and Mr. Corman will look at ROI from the adversary’s
perspective, introducing an “Adversary ROI” model, and showing how it can
change the way organizations evaluate cyber security investment.
“It’s time we
flip how we evaluate security investments, and look at it through the
motivations of the attacker,” said David Etue, vice president, corporate
development strategy, SafeNet. “The
Adversary ROI model provides a framework for business leaders and security
experts to discuss the motivations of various adversaries, ranging from nation
states to organized crime to hactivists, and better apply limited resources to
best defend their critical assets.”
”Organizations
have finite resources—they can’t protect everything,” said Joshua Corman,
director of security intelligence for Akamai Technologies. “The single largest determinant in a breach
last year was who was targeting you. We
need to look at the adversaries to better protect our organizations.”
Messrs. Etue and Corman’s presentation (session ID: GRC-202) will take place on Wednesday, February 29 at 9:30AM PST
in Room 309 at the Moscone Center. SafeNet will also showcase its data
protection solutions and will be launching its new global program, “The World
Runs on Crypto.” Crypto technologies empower complete protection, trust,
compliance and governance of sensitive information, no matter what it is, where
it resides, or where it’s going. As the
leader in data protection, SafeNet is at the forefront of Crypto, with
solutions that enable customers to protect, control, and manage their most
high-value information in the most complex environments. Visit SafeNet in booth
